Secondary schools, apprentice training centres, advanced vocational colleges

Secondary education develops knowledge, skills, attitudes and values obtained during primary education. Secondary schools provide a wider general level of education or specialist education related to general education and creates the basis for lifelong learning, continuing education, and preparation for carrying out a profession or work tasks. After completing the respective programme of education an educational qualification is obtained – secondary education, secondary education with vocational certificate, or secondary education with school leaving examination. At a conservatory a qualification of secondary education with school leaving examination (firstly after 4 years) or of higher education (after completing a six or eight year education programme) is obtained by completing an education programme (with certification).

In Pardubice higher level education is provided by three colleges which have been established by the Pardubice region or private entities. These colleges sit within secondary vocational schools. Engineering, economics and humanities are taught at these colleges. The duration of study is 3 years on a daily basis, and includes practical experience. For health related subjects the duration is 3 ½ years.

Accommodation facilities provide pupils and students with accommodation, board and around-the-clock support.
