From the viewpoint of tourism, the position of Pardubice is favourable as there is good accessibility by transport and a high level of services. Due to its flat character the town, as well as it surroundings, are suitable for cycling, horse riding and family hiking trips.
Cycling trips became a sporting hit at the turn of the 20th century. We do not ride bicycles to get somewhere quickly and in time or to win a kind of race, but to have a rest from the rush and hurry around us, to stretch flaccid muscles and to see something interesting. The network of cycling routes in the Pardubice region territory has been continuously developing, offering a lot of interesting circuits that will safely take you to natural or historical monuments or provide you with a pleasant ride not disturbed by road traffic. In our region, you can choose from a larger variety of cycling trips – from demanding mountain areas up to relaxing trips through the quite territory along the Elbe river. The routes mostly lead along third-class roads with hardened surfaces and along field and forest paths.
A map of cycling routes is available in the information centre – PARDUBICE REGION TOURISM, www.ipardubice.cz
Why don’t you go for a ride along one of the routes – there is a total of 445 km – and get to know the loveliest natural and architectural places of interest in the Gingerbread Heart of Bohemia!
