Municipality of Pardubice

This multimedia presentation has been created in order to promote and to provide information about the city of Pardubice – the city located at the confluence of the rivers Elbe (Labe) and Chrudimka. The city occupies the area of 78 km2 in the altitude of 215 up to 237 m above sea level and almost 90 thousand inhabitants live there. Pardubice is not only a city of industry and university but also a city of sport and culture. It is the hometown of the Great Pardubice Steeplechase, the Golden Helmet motorcycle race, and the ice-hockey national league. The East Bohemian Theatre organizes the GRAND Festival of Laughter every year, a national exhibition of theatrical comedies. Pardubice is also famous for its honey delicacy – the Pardubice gingerbread which has been protected by the Certificate of the European Union since 2008.
