Air transport

The East Bohemian Airport in Pardubice (EBA) is a regional airport with the status of a public international airport, with mixed civil and military operation. The Pardubice airport included within the network of five major airports of the Czech Republic is located about 4 km from the city centre and 2 km from the railway and bus stations. It lies directly off road I/2 from Prague to Pardubice, 2 km from the river port and 10 km from the planned construction of motorway D11. Due to this position it is easily and quickly accessible not only from all places within the region but also from adjacent regions, no matter whether you are coming in the direction from Prague or from the north – Liberec and Hradec Králové or from Olomouc or from Havlíčkův Brod.

Within the airport complex the car park may be used for the whole duration between departure and arrival, which is certainly advantageous if you are a regular traveller from this airport. A municipal public transport stop is naturally at the airport.

In 2007 nearly 100,000 passengers were checked in at the Pardubice airport and the current departure hall did not have sufficient capacity any longer. Another check-in hall was therefore opened in 2008 in order to provide passengers with more comfortable and better quality facilities. This way the requirement to separate passengers from flights within the Schengen area and passengers flying out of this territory was complied with. Before that time, this had been a limited factor of the airport and these flights could not be checked in at the same time. The new hall also includes an arrival area, where passengers flying in the Schengen area pass through passport control.

Others services provided by the airport:

  • Car hire
  • Arranging passenger and cargo flights
  • Booking hotel rooms
