The Pardubice Town Hall started to organise public skating in the town streets in 2003. Every year, approximately seven events have been organised under the characteristic name – “In-line skating in Pardubice" – since then.
Skaters ride through town streets they would not usually get to under normal traffic conditions. Thanks to the Municipal Police, they can skate safely there.
Several hundreds of in-line fans always participate in public skating – from pre-school age up to old-age skaters. Each event has some specific features – e.g. all skaters appear in the same colour of clothes, in ice hockey dresses, or they skate along the route in which the Vinařský marathon is run; the event “In-line skating in Pardubice” may also be connected with a charitable occasion – e.g. Kapka naděje (Drop of Hope).
